Minnesota CNA Certification Renewal


It is important to know that state regulations change often.  This site is updated frequently, however, please double check all information with your states official government agency.  Links and contact information are provided for your convenience.


To renew CNA Certification in Minnesota:

(1) A pre-printed recertification form will be mailed out to the CNA 2-3 months prior to your expiration date. If you still do not receive any notice, you may obtain renewal form by contacting Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.

(2) Requirements to be met:

  • Currently be in good standing on the nursing assistant Registry

  • Have worked a minimum of 8 hours as a nursing assistant in that state in the past 24 months

  • The facility you worked must submit a completed update form and a job description to the Registry. The Registry will review the job description to determine if duties performed will keep you on the registry.

(3) Completed form with required documents and fees must be mailed to the address indicated in the form.

(4) Please allow at least 30 business days for processing.

To renew Expired CNA Certification in Minnesota:

(2) If the registry provide form, complete the form with required documents and fees. Mail the form to the address indicated in the form.
